Sarah Suatoni L.P.C.

I hold a BFA in Dance from The Julliard School and a Masters in counseling psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute of Santa Barbara.  I have been in private practice since 1990 in New York City and now also in Connecticut where I reside with my husband and my two children.

I work frequently but not extensively with couples and adolescents of all ages.  I also offer body work and movement therapy for those struggling with chronic pain or needing relaxation techniques.  I have worked for years with clients who struggled with chronic pain conditions such as interstitial cystitis, vulvadynia, prostydynia, post pardum depression and sexual dysfunctions.

My training is grounded in the belief that physical and emotional symptoms are best understood as a reflection of past events and current circumstances.  Whether the problem is a physical pain or psychological distress, I engage in a process of understanding the problem, analyzing the sources of the issue, providing support and empathy, and offering concrete tools for change.

My goal is to help find solutions that are practical and transformational by combining techniques from Archetypal, Analytic, and Humanistic Psychology along with Systems Theory, Structural Integration, Hellerwork, Yoga, and Dance.
